Fall Fashion

Using this great app- Polyvore I was able to create this collage. Today was cold and cloudy and I kind of modeled this after that. I picked the jacket and sweater because it is fall and because when I look around at different shops, this sweater style is common with the loose pocket and the jacket that folds out is a classy way to add to an outfit. I picked the skirt because I thought it was really cute. Also because it has a cold rainy picture on it, and like I said I was really inspired by that. Also because high wasted skirts are really cute and can be used all year long. During the summer you could pair this with a cute short sleeve shirt or a tank top. During the winter though you could wear it with tights and a warmer top. I would pair the sweater with a dark pair of jeans or leggings and some brown boots/flats. I would wear the jacket with a plain top dark jean (more on the lines of black then blue) and really cute flats.

If you have any thoughts or ideas please feel free to leave a commit. I would love to know what you think about what I put up.

Cupcakes!!!

So this week I made cupcakes from the box but instead of following there directions I changes it up a bit. This is what you will need-

Cupcake Recipe:
  • 1 box of cake mix any flavor you like
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup of butter, not margarine
  • 1 cup of water
Melt the butter in the microwave. Add cake mix, eggs, and water to the butter in a large bowl. Mix it on low for about a minute. Then mix on high for a minute. The cupcake batter will not be runny it will be thick and creamy. Fill you cupcake tins. ( I usually use an ice cream scooper for this)
Put them in for twenty minutes at 350 degrees.

Vanilla Buttercream Frosting:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter at room temp
  • 3 to 4 cups of powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1/4 tsp of table salt
  • 1tbsp vanilla extract
  • 4 tablespoons of milk or cream
Beat butter for a few minutes at medium speed. Add the 3 to 4 cups of powdered sugar, turn mixer on lowest speed till sugar in completely mixed into butter. Increase speed to medium and add vanilla, salt, and two table spoons of milk or cream. Beat for three minutes. If frosting is not as thick as you would like add more powdered sugar if it is too thick add more milk/cream one tablespoon at a time.

Chocolate Buttercream Frosting:
  • 1 cup of unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 3 1/2 cups pf powder sugar
  • 1/2 cup of cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp of table salt
  • 2 tsp of vanilla
  • 4 tbsp of milk or cream
Cream butter for a few minutes in mixer at medium speed. Turn off mixer, and sift in 3 1/2 cups of powdered sugar and cocoa powder into the bowl. Turn mixer on low speed till absorbed. Increase speed to medium and add vanilla, salt, and cream or milk. Beat for three minutes. If you want it thicker add more sugar, or if it is too thick add more cream one table spoon at a time.

In the end this is how the cupcakes will look

Staples in Everyday Life

Since I have started this blog I have been looking more closely at the people around me and what they wear. Using this great Ap called Polyvor I was able to make this collage of some popular fashion pieces. Starting from the top left you see a blazer which is supper common. Even with teenagers I see them wearing it with skinning jeans and brown knee high boots. Next is a sweater, Sweaters are really common this year. I am constantly hearing that it is sweater weather. People every where are looking forward to wearing there sweaters. If you want to be in fashion I would get a sweater. Then on the top to the right you see jeans, they are a staple in every closet and every one should have a pair. Then I have a hat, not everyone is a hat person, I know I have given up hope of wearing a hat, but I believe that they can make an outfit really cut, kind of a more relaxed look like I look like I do not care but i actually do. I have two bracelets on this collage, I think that bracelets are really cute and can be a subtile way to make an outfit go the extra mile. I then put on a leather jacket. Leather jackets can be cut when paired with a cute kind of girl outfit. I also have a skirt and dress on there, every girl should have a cute skirt and dress they are essential and high wasted skirts are really in. I have a pair of shorts with lace on them, I feel like the lace is a cute girly touch to the jean shorts. I also have a red pump shoe, because sometimes you want your shoes to be the accent to your outfit. Wear those with a black dress and it would be a nice pop of color.
